Dr. Anirban Dutta's journey in the field of medicine has been nothing short of remarkable. He earned his MBBS from Medical College, Kolkata, followed by a postgraduation in Ophthalmology (DNB) from the prestigious Aravind Eye Hospital, Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu. His relentless pursuit of excellence led him to complete a three-year fellowship in Cornea and External Disease at the world-renowned L V Prasad Eye Institute, Bhubaneswar.
With a passion for research, Dr. Dutta boasts multiple publications in esteemed national and international journals and has presented papers and posters at various conferences. His dedication has earned him accolades, including the Allergan Travel Grant in 2018.
His academic prowess is equally impressive, as he has successfully cleared multiple ophthalmology fellowship exams nationally and internationally, including the prestigious FICO (Fellowship of International Council of Ophthalmology) and FAICO (Fellowship of All India Collegium of Ophthalmology) exams. He is also a proud member of the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh, UK, and various national and international ophthalmological societies.
Dr. Dutta is not only an expert in performing micro-incision cataract surgery using phacoemulsification but also possesses extensive experience in corneal surgery. His repertoire includes a range of procedures such as keratoplasty (PK - Therapeutic and Optical, DALK, DSAEK, DMEK), pterygium surgery with autograft/glue, amniotic membrane grafts, tenon patch grafts, tarsorrhaphies, corneal tear repair, and trauma management. He has successfully performed over 100 corneal transplants, encompassing both full-thickness and lamellar transplants.
