Dr Anirban has completed his MBBS from the reputed Medical College, Kolkata followed by his postgraduation in Ophthalmology(DNB) from the prestigious Aravind Eye Hospital, Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu. He subsequently completed his super specialization with a 3 year fellowship in Cornea and External disease from the world renowned L V Prasad Eye Institute, Bhubaneswar.

He has a keen interest in research with several publications in national and international journals to his credit and has presented papers/posters in various conferences. He has won several national and international quiz competitions as a resident and was a recipient of the Allergan Travel Grant, 2018.

He has an excellent academic record- having cleared multiple ophthalmology fellowship exams nationally and internationally- Including the prestigious FICO(Fellowship of International Council of Ophthalmology) and FAICO(Fellowship of All India Collegium of Ophthalmology) exams. He has attained Membership of the prestigious Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh, UK. He is also a member of several national and international societies.

He is an expert in performing micro incision cataract surgery- phacoemulsification- in all variety of complex cases. Being trained at the world famous L V Prasad Eye Institute, he has extensive experience in corneal surgery with a variety of procedures such as keratoplasty(PK-Therapeutic and Optical , DALK, DSAEK,DMEK), pterygium surgery with autograft/glue, amniotic membrane grafts, tenon patch grafts, tarsorrhaphies, corneal tear repair and trauma management. He has performed more than a 100 corneal transplants-including full thickness as well as lamellar transplants. In addition he has experience in diagnosis and management of all varieties of corneal disorders- such as Keratoconus, Dry eye disease, Contact lens use, Infectious keratitis, chemical injuries and corneal dystrophies.
